Status pages
Set up a public status page, post updates and let customers subscribe.
Creating a status page
- Open Status pages and create a page. Give it a name and an address (
pingerer.com/s/your-name). - Add components: the parts of your service customers care about, like "Website" or "Online shop". Link each to sites or individual monitors. A component's status comes from its monitors.
- Add your logo, brand color and time zone under Look and options, and check the live preview.
- Click Publish. Drafts aren't visible to anyone else.
Component statuses
Operational, degraded, partial outage or major outage. When all of a component's monitors are down it's a major outage; when some are, a partial outage. An open status update can set a component's status explicitly.
Posting updates
Post an update with a state (investigating, identified, monitoring, resolved), a message and the affected components. Follow-ups join the same story until it's resolved. From an incident, Post status update fills in the components and impact for you.
With automatic updates on, Pingerer posts when an outage is confirmed and again when it recovers, so the page is right even at 3am.
Subscribers
Turn on subscriptions to let visitors get updates by email. They confirm by email first, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe. Admins can see the subscriber list.
History, feeds and JSON
- The page shows 90 days of daily uptime per component;
/historylists past incidents. - RSS at
/feed.rssand Atom at/feed.atom. - JSON at
/api/status.json(open to any website, for embedding).
Planned maintenance
Maintenance windows on linked sites show up on the page ahead of time.
Branding
Pages show "Powered by Pingerer" at the bottom. On the Paid plan you can hide it. To use your own address, see custom domains.
