Importing from another service

Bring your monitors over from UptimeRobot, Better Stack, Pingdom or a list of URLs.

How it works

From Sites, click Bring your monitors (or open it from the welcome page when you're new). Pick where you're coming from and paste a key. Pingerer reads your monitors and shows you everything before anything is added:

  • Will be added: it comes over as it is.
  • Adjusted to fit: it comes over with a change, like checking every minute when your plan's shortest interval is a minute, or from fewer regions.
  • Over your plan: it's on a domain your plan has no room for (the free plan watches one domain). It's left unticked; tick it to add it paused, and it starts once you upgrade. On the Paid plan there's room for every domain, and each one you bring over is billed from your next billing date.
  • Already here: you imported it before, or you already check the same address. It's left alone, so importing twice never makes copies.
  • Can't import: with the reason, like a kind of check Pingerer doesn't have yet, or an address on a private network.

Tick what you want and click Import what's ticked. It runs in the background; the page shows its progress and we email you when it's done. Nothing changes in your old account, so you can run both side by side while you switch.

Which key to use

  • UptimeRobot: the read-only API key, from My Settings › API Settings. It starts with ur. We don't accept the main key, which can change your account.
  • Better Stack: an Uptime API token, from Settings › API tokens.
  • Pingdom: an API 3.1 token with read access, from Settings › Pingdom API.

We use the key once, to read your account, then delete it. It's stored encrypted until then, and never for more than an hour.

What comes over

  • Monitors: HTTP, keyword, ping and port checks, with their interval, timeout, expected status codes, keywords and custom headers. Checks are grouped into sites by their domain. Mail server checks (SMTP, POP3, IMAP) become port checks.
  • Heartbeats (cron monitors) from UptimeRobot and Better Stack, with their period. Each gets a new ping URL in Pingerer, so point your jobs at it.
  • SSL and domain expiry warnings from Better Stack become SSL certificate and domain renewal checks.
  • Alert contacts that map cleanly: email addresses, and Slack, Discord, Teams and webhook URLs. Each gets alerts for every site. Addresses that aren't your team's are emailed a link to confirm. SMS numbers need verifying, so add them on the Alerts page.
  • Maintenance windows that happen once, daily or weekly. UptimeRobot doesn't share its time zone, so its windows come over in UTC: check the times afterwards.

Not imported: status pages, transaction and browser checks, DNS and UDP checks, and alert integrations like PagerDuty or Pushover.

No API access? Paste a list

Choose List of URLs and paste one address per line, or a CSV with url, name and interval columns, or upload the file. Intervals are in seconds, or like 30s, 5m, 1h.

url,name,interval
yourbakery.com,Your Bakery,1m
https://shop.yourbakery.com/health,Online shop,5m

A JSON list of addresses, or of objects with the same three keys, works too.
