About

Websites break in more ways than "down".

Pingerer started from a simple, annoying pattern: the outages that hurt small businesses most weren't servers crashing. They were a certificate that expired over a long weekend, a domain renewal that bounced off an old card, a DNS record a well-meaning contractor changed, an email setup that quietly sent invoices to spam.

Most monitoring tools are built for engineering teams with on-call rotations. They're powerful, and they assume you already know what a CNAME is. Pingerer is built for everyone else first: the bakery owner, the freelancer, the five-person agency. Paste a URL and it works out what to watch. When something breaks, it tells you what happened in plain English and what usually fixes it.

Developers aren't left out. There's a full API, a command-line tool, heartbeats for every cron job and signed webhooks. But you shouldn't need any of that to know your site is fine.

What we care about

  • Alerts you can trust. Every failure is re-checked before anyone is woken up. One clear message per incident, not ten.
  • Plain English. No jargon in alerts unless it helps you fix the problem.
  • Honest pricing. A free plan that's actually useful, prices on the page, cancel any time.
  • Respect for your data. No ads, no selling data, no third-party trackers on our website. See our privacy policy.
  • Being a good neighbour on the internet. We only check what you're allowed to check, and our acceptable use policy keeps it that way.

We monitor ourselves too

Pingerer's own uptime is public at status.pingerer.com. Product updates are in the changelog.
