Everything in the dashboard, from your terminal and your code.
A REST API and a command-line tool for sites, monitors, incidents, heartbeats and status updates.
Everything you can do in the dashboard you can do from code: add a site when you launch a client project, pause checks during a deploy, post a status update from your incident tooling, or fail a CI build when production is down.
REST API
- Sites, monitors (pause, resume, test now, results and uptime), incidents (acknowledge, notes, resolve), heartbeats, alert channels, maintenance windows, status pages and their updates, and monthly reports.
- Bearer tokens, read-only or read and write, optionally limited to one account.
- JSON in and out, consistent errors, 300 requests a minute per token.
- An OpenAPI description you can generate a client from.
Command-line tool
gem install pingerer
pingerer login
pingerer status # exits 3 when something is down
pingerer sites add yourbakery.com --checks http, ssl, domain --every 1m
pingerer incidents ack INC-0042
pingerer heartbeats ping "Nightly backup"
Every command takes --json, so it fits in scripts and CI. CLI guide.
Signed webhooks
Webhook alerts carry an X-Pingerer-Signature header (an HMAC-SHA256 of the timestamp and body) so your endpoint can check they came from us.
More of what Pingerer watches
Uptime monitoring
HTTP, keyword, ping and port checks as often as every 30 seconds, confirmed from more than one region before anyone is woken up.
SSL & domain expiry
Reminders before your SSL certificate or domain registration runs out, plus broken certificate chains and wrong hostnames.
DNS change alerts
Pingerer keeps a copy of your A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS and TXT records and tells you when any of them change.
Email deliverability
Plain-English checks of SPF, DKIM and DMARC, so the emails your business sends keep arriving.
