If your invoices, order confirmations or password resets land in spam, the cause is usually three DNS records most people have never heard of. Pingerer checks them every day and explains what's wrong in plain English.

The three records

  • SPF lists the services allowed to send email for your domain, like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or your newsletter tool.
  • DKIM is a signature on each email that proves it really came from you and wasn't changed on the way.
  • DMARC tells receiving mail servers what to do with email that fails those checks, and where to send reports.

Since 2024, Google and Yahoo expect bulk senders to have all three. Even small senders get better delivery with them.

What Pingerer checks

  • SPF exists, there's only one of it (two cancel each other out), and it ends in a way that actually stops other people sending as you.
  • DKIM keys are published for the common selectors (Google, Microsoft and the usual defaults).
  • DMARC exists, and whether its policy only monitors (p=none) or actually protects you.
  • Your domain's mail servers (MX), so a domain that doesn't receive email isn't nagged about it.

When something is missing or broken, the alert says what it means and what usually fixes it. When it's fixed, you get a recovery message.
